Alex: He's a more traditional GTA character and Rockstar does those kind of thugs very well, so I have no doubt he'll be well realised. Martin: I can't see the fundamentals changing so much, but it's a brave move from Rockstar to shift away from Niko - having gone to such pains to establish him over the thirty hours of GTA IV, Klebitz better be a mighty good replacement.

But going back to your point of 4-5 hours, I would've thought they'll be a dozen or so missions to get involved in, plus extra stuff, so I think it'll be longer. I would've thought Rockstar will stick to the same run and gun controls, but it doesn't fit quite so well with the character.

Niko was military trained, hence why he could handle machineguns, helicopters, etc. Alex: It'll be interesting to see what direction they take the character.

Martin: That's being quite optimistic - I'm expecting something more in the ballpark of 4 to 5 hours. Martin: Did you read anything on how long the campaign is going to be? Alex: I don't think any info has come out yet but I'm hoping it'll be a good 10 hours or so, plus addition replay value. Martin: And Rockstar are pretty familiar with the Warrirors already - I never played the game, but did turf wars feature heavily in that? Alex: Not hugely, it was more of a traditional scrolling fighter, but with the extra oomph provided by 360 it'd easily be possible. It could play out a bit like The Warriors, with bloody great gang battles and drive-bys on motorbikes. Alex: It'd be great if the whole of Algonquin was up for grabs, with Johnny and his gang facing off against a bunch of other gangs, all looking to take control. Martin: That would be awesome - the turf wars were one of the aspects of San Andreas that was sorely missing from GTA IV. But one thing I'd really like to see is gang stuff - going up against rival biker gangs to take over turf, similar to how it worked in San Andreas. One thing that's obviously going to feature heavily is bikes - bike races through the city, that kind of stuff. Alex: Exactly, so I'm guessing the DLC will provide more of a story of how it all ties together and maybe even provide a bit more info on Playboy X. And, not that I remember him too well, it turns out he did figure briefly in Niko's story - as a friend of Playboy X. YES NO Martin: After the DLC was revealed, a million fingers stoked a million search engines with the name Johnny Klebitz. I'm hoping it'll flesh out the whole GTA back-story a little - how he hooked up with Niko and Playboy X and so on. The storyline runs parallel with Niko's but that's about it. Alex: So let's stick with what we know - the story is based around a bit-part biker who Niko bumps into. But, applying a rational mind, the idea of a new city was preposterous, and getting the editor over to a console would require a hard drive the size of a small city.

And after I had seen the PC editor, I was wondering if they were going to port that over to the 360 version. When one of the Housers said what they had in mind was going to fry the Xbox Live servers, my expectations went through the roof - my guesses went anywhere from a new city - after all, a cynical mind could say that GTA: Vice City and San Andreas were GTA III expansion packs. And that's all we know so far – so we got IGN UK's two resident GTA freaks Alex and Martin to knock their heads together and speculate what might be in store come February 17.Īlex: What would you like to see in the GTA DLC, seeing as you're such a fan? Martin: It was difficult to know what to expect, because Rockstar were painting it as being so colossal. Well, we now know a little bit more, with skimpy details revealing that it's to be a side-story to the original's main campaign that moves the focus away from Niko Bellic to Johnny Klebitz, a member of biker gang The Lost. Finally, some seven months after Grand Theft Auto IV was released, we now know what Rockstar has in store for the hotly anticipated, Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content.
